Project MK-Ultra is one of the conspiracy theories that has been proven true. The conspiracy says the CIA is testing LSD and other hallucinogenic drugs in a secret experiment to modify people's behavior.
In fact, this program actually existed called MK-Ultra. Even so, the experiment did not go smoothly. The drugs they secretly administered to respondents resulted in permanently deteriorating mental health.
MK-Ultra was a secret program conducted by the CIA in the 1950s and 1960s. The goal was to develop interrogation techniques and modify human behavior through the use of drugs and other methods.
However, this experiment did not go as planned. Many respondents suffered permanent mental damage due to the use of these drugs. Some even died.
In 1973, the then director of the CIA, Richard Helms, ordered the destruction of all documents related to MK-Ultra. However, some documents were saved and made public in 1977.
This scandal shocked the public and triggered an investigation by the United States Congress. Eventually, the MK-Ultra program was terminated and the CIA was banned from conducting similar experiments in the future.
This MK-Ultra story reminds us that conspiracy theories can sometimes prove to be true. However, it is important to remain critical and check the facts before believing anything.
